About healing

Healing is a very gentle process which helps to rebalance a person physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually.

Because of the wonderful ability of healing to work on so many different levels it is possible to work with an individual in a very holistic way - effectively treating the whole person. Healing can help heal physical injuries, re-balance the emotions and deeply relax and de-stress the mind and body.

Healing is quite simply an energy transfer. Every living being on this planet, whether plant, animal or human, has a measurable energy field around its body. This is an electro-magnetic field which reflects the current state of health of the living being. It's this energy field which a healer is sensing whilst working with a person.

The human energy field

A number of studies have been carried out by physicists, where the human energy field has been assessed and measured during healing sessions. It has been found that the brain wave patterns of healers measure a consistent 7.8 - 8Hz (i.e. 8 cycles per second) during healing sessions. This is an alpha rhythm, and it marks the beginning of a relaxed, altered state. These readings have also been recorded in the magnetic pulse coming from healers’ hands.

So, where does this energy come from?

It would seem that this energy comes from a deep connection with our environment, in fact from the very planet we are living on. The Earth’s magnetic field fluctuates at 7.8 - 8Hz, and these fluctuations are known as Schumann waves. It would seem that healers are able to tap into the Earth’s magnetic field pulses for healing purposes.

During a healing session, as a healer links with the Schumann waves, both the left and right hemispheres of the healer’s brain become balanced at 7.8 - 8Hz. And after linking with the patient for some time, it’s been shown the patient’s brain waves also go into an alpha rhythm and synchronise with those of the healer, with both left and right brain hemispheres becoming similarly balanced.

How healing works

Every healthy body has a natural continuous rhythm. And each organ of the body has an energetic rhythm of its own. When a body is healthy these different rhythms interact and energy transfers easily from organ to organ.

However, these rhythms can become disturbed when the body suffers any disease or illness. Any stress, surgery or shock can cause the energy levels to change and the energetic transfers between the organs to become disturbed. When this happens energy can become blocked or trapped within the body.

The healer seeks to rebalance these energy flows through the body by transmitting energy through the hands, mind, eyes and voice, bringing the whole body back into balance.

The knowledge that there are various energy centres within the body has been with us for a long time. Both the Chinese and Indian cultures have documented these energy centres and their energy flows. We know them more commonly as Chakras, meridian channels or acupressure points. It is these energy centres and energy flows that the healer is sensing and working on during a healing session.

Healing can help with a wide range of problems

Healing can help with:

  • the speed and extent of recovery from serious illness or major surgery
  • combatting the side-effects of treatments such as chemotherapy and radiotherapy
  • complementing other forms of treatment
  • stress related disorders, such as high blood pressure and ME
  • skin disorders, such as eczema and psoriasis
  • pain relief

This is not a definitive list, and it isn’t necessary to be suffering from any particular problem or illness to benefit from healing, as many people come for healing simply to regain that balance in their lives which has been lost due to the pressures of work or the pace of living.

A healing session is a very pleasant and deeply relaxing way of reducing stress, healing and re-energising the body.
